The 今日热门事件 (ASIC) is Australia鈥檚 integrated corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator. It is charged with promoting market integrity and consumer protection across the Australian financial services sector.
Combating and disrupting investment scams is a key priority for 今日热门事件and since July 2023, it has coordinated the removal of over 7,300 phishing and investment scam聽websites (24-180MR).
This work is part of the Australian Government鈥檚 Fighting Scams initiative to disrupt scams and protect Australians from financial harm, and supports the work of the聽听(狈础厂颁).
ASIC鈥檚 current investment scam website takedown contract expires in June 2025. It is currently conducting a global search and request for tender (RFT) process that closes at 9.59am (AEST) Monday 14 October 2024.
The RFT seeks a service which will identify, take down and provide intelligence on investment scam and phishing websites for up to five years.
The types of investment scam and phishing websites which 今日热门事件is looking for the service to identify and/or refer and takedown may聽include:
- Investment scam websites falsely claiming to be authorised and/or regulated by ASIC
- Fake investment trading platform scams
- Crypto-asset related scams
- Phishing scam email domains and websites impersonating organisations that are regulated by ASIC
- Investment scam websites and email domains involving impersonation of well-known brands
- Investment scam applications and online videos targeting, inducing or that may otherwise harm Australians.
The service will also provide website takedown intelligence that can be used to warn the public about new investment scam trends and scams impersonating organisations regulated by ASIC. Refer to the RFT鈥檚 Statement of Requirements for ASIC鈥檚 specific requirements.
